Description

Vibrant, sweet-tart cranberry lemon drop cocktails perfect for any occasion! This elegant and easy-to-make recipe brings celebration to your glass.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
  • 4 ounces cranberry-raspberry juice
  • 2 ounces triple sec
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Plenty of ice
  • Lemon twist, fresh cranberries, or a sprig of rosemary (optional)

Instructions

1. Pour 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar onto a small, flat plate. Take a lemon or lime wedge and run it around the rim of your martini glasses. Carefully dip the wet rim into the sugar, twisting gently to create an even coating. Set aside.

2. If using a lemon twist, carefully peel a strip of zest from a fresh lemon, avoiding the bitter white pith. You can curl it around your finger or a skewer. For fresh cranberries or rosemary, simply have them ready.

3. Grab your cocktail shaker. Add the 4 ounces of cranberry-raspberry juice, 2 ounces of triple sec, 2 ounces of vodka, 2 ounces of fresh lemon juice, and 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice.

4. Fill the shaker generously with ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want to hear the ice clinking loudly and feel the shaker get very cold in your hands.

5. Remove the lid and strain the mixture into your prepared martini glasses, making sure to filter out the ice.

6. Add your chosen garnish, such as a lemon twist or a sprig of rosemary and a few fresh cranberries, to each cocktail.

7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Adjusting Sweetness and Tartness: Taste your mixture before straining. If it’s too tart, add a tiny bit more cranberry juice or a splash of simple syrup. If it’s too sweet, a little extra fresh lemon or lime juice will brighten it up.

Fresh Juices: Always use freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice for the best flavor.

Vodka Choices: Experiment with citrus-flavored or botanical vodkas for added complexity.

Triple Sec Alternatives: Cointreau or Grand Marnier can be used instead of triple sec.

Juice Swaps: Pure cranberry juice or cranberry with orange juice can replace cranberry-raspberry juice.

Simple Syrup: Make a quick simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar, heated until dissolved) for smoother sweetness.

Seasonal Variations:

Summer: Muddle fresh raspberries or blackberries, garnish with mint.

Autumn: Add a splash of apple cider, infuse vodka with cinnamon, garnish with apple slice.

Winter: Add ginger liqueur or candied ginger, garnish with rosemary and fresh cranberries.

Non-Alcoholic Mocktail: Omit vodka and triple sec. Combine cranberry, lemon, and lime juices with ice, shake, strain, and top with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. Add simple syrup to taste if needed.
